Spain

Colors, lights and cultures mix eloquently, though not always simply.

In Grenada, the Alhambra reflects the ambitions of the people who lorded over the city in beauty but from positions of great strength.

Castles pop up everywhere.
          They perch on every hilltop and even in fields of sunflowers.

Spain's influence shows up in many places, as far away in time and temperament as Carmel, USA and Manila, the Philippines.

There are many arches, too,
          old and new. Sometimes only they remain.

Some of the greatest though, are in Cordoba in the great mosque.

Through the palace windows in Sevilla the light shines both in and out.
